I sustained a cervical spine injury and had been in severe pain for several weeks when I went to Harborside Sport & Spine for Physical Therapy. I was immediately impressed that I only waited a couple of minutes before seeing "Dr. Dave" (Dr. Dave Sylvester,) who immediately and thoroughly assessed my problem, educated me on exactly what was going in in my spine, and came up with a decisive action plan for rehabilitation. Now only two and a half weeks later, I have no pain at all and feel confident that I will soon resume the sports I enjoy. Furthermore, as a single mom, being able to get in and out of therapy during my lunch breaks has been invaluable. All of the doctors and staff are unwaveringly efficient, friendly and professional- one truly couldn't ask for anything more.

I've been a patient at Harborside Sport & Spine for over 2 years now. The first day I walked in to the office, I was over 400lbs and had been suffering from chronic back issues. That day I was introduced to Dr. Dave Sylvester, who took the time to sit and get to know me, and learn about my conditions which brought me to the office. Since that initial consultation, I've been a regular patient, and come at least once a week. I'm not proud to say that I am down 200lbs and have become an avid runner. With the aid of Dr. Sylvester along with his knowledgeable and caring staff, not only have I overcome the chronic back issues I had suffered from most of my life, but I've also had the ability to get through my first year of running injury free, including 12 weeks of half marathon training.

I can attest that Dr. Dave and the physical and massage therapists do excellent work. This time last year I experienced debilitating pain and difficulty with muscle and joint movements over most of my body. I went to physical therapy for 6 months last year through the Spring and Summer and was able to join a gym last September. Today, I had my best work out ever! I am feeling good and I see my overall health and stamina steadily improving. I give credit to prayer and to Dr. Dave's Harborside Spine staff. Please give my regards to Wendy.

I've been going to Harborside Sport and Spine for several years now, and I've got to say, the entire staff is like an extension of my family. The people are friendly here, and they genuinely care about your well being and your health. Dr. Dave Sylvester is an awesome guy. He's very easy going and receptive to finding out what your aches and pains are, and provides good feedback on what you can do to alleviate that pain outside of his office. In terms of treatment, he is receptive to what your comfort level is with spinal adjustments and bone popping. I've been popping my joints my whole life... I've got unusual muscle tightness everywhere, and popping everything back into place is my ideal form of relief. I have recommended co-workers who have gone to see Dr. Dave who are not so comfortable with the adjustments, and the great thing is that he doesn't get offended or takes anything personally, understands that they're not so comfortable with it, and he'll recommend an alternative method of loosening up their backs. In terms of the support staff, what can I say? Each and every one of them is so welcoming. From the second you walk in the door, either Wendy or Kay will great you with a warm smile and ask you how you're doing... When you get treatment from the physical therapists Letty, Sio, or Megan, they'll help you settle in and adjust the machines to your comfort level. And my girl Stacy, man, she is a lifesaver! She is the masseuse there on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and every time I go there, she's able to knead and squeeze out all the muscle tension that I accumulate over the week. Everyone in the office jokes that I just go there to take a nap, because 80% of the time, I'll pass out and start snoring on the table. In a way, I think that passing out is really the highest order of compliment that I can give masseuse, I come in with a full weekload of stress in my neck, my shoulders, my back, and in that 20 minute session, I'm relaxed and snoozing like a baby. If that isn't a miracle, I don't know what is. For those of you who don't have Wednesdays or Thursdays free, Jasmine works Mondays and Tuesdays. She specializes in deep tissue massage, which is a rigorous, sometimes semi-painful (but the good kind) kneading that really gets down to the bone and just bazookas away any of the muscle tightness that you've got. People are afraid to go to the chiropractor sometimes because they think they'll get addicted to the adjustments and your spine will never sit right again if you do it too much. It's true that you may never be healed of your back pain. If you're looking for that, I think you're asking too much. For me, as a long time patient, I've seen improvement in how my back feels on a normal day. It doesn't ache as much. I find my posture a bit better. I don't pop my own joints as much. I see my sessions with Dr Dave and the rest of a team as a weekly tune-up that helps me relieve some of the pressure that builds up over time. That in itself is completely worth it. I give these guys 5 stars wholeheartedly. PS the office is expanding, more appointments will be available, go get a free consultation, free massage, tell them Joe sent you. I promise Dr Dave isn't a pushy kind of guy who will force you to come back. You'll just want to come back on your own.

I began coming to Harborside Sport & Spine with pain in my knees from a previous dislocation, borderline high-blood pressure and overall stress from work and being a busy mom and wife. Four years later, my blood pressure is normal, my stress is being managed and my knees (although more rickety with age) are no longer in pain. I call Dr. Dave "my well doctor" because seeing him regularly keeps me healthy and prevents future sickness and pain. His office staff are welcoming , caring and make me feel part of a family. My weekly visits there are a refuge from the meetings, chores and business of everyday life. After treatment, I emerge rested, revived and ready for the world. I often say Harborside "saved my life" by changing the course of my deteriorating health, I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Dave and the Harborside Sport & Spine staff and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a natural way to live longer, feel better and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I had the greatest experience with Harborside Sport & Spine. I had had back pain for 20 years and finally sought help. The people at Harbsorside could not have been friendlier or more knowledgeable. I looked forward to going to my appointments every week. The staff and doctors are efficient and approachable and always make you feel comfortable. My pain diminished with every visit and I was able to learn practices and exercises that I can incorporate into my daily life. Thank you!

I am 47 years old and have played competitive baseball my entire life both on a college and private semi-pro level. My overwhelming love and passion for the game since little league came to an end in 2007 when I tore my left meniscus. Refusing surgery, this lead to weight gain, lower back pain, sciatica and depression. I even started drinking heavy. Through a co-worker I decided to go to Harborside Sport & Spine for treatment two times a week. WOW...what can I say? Their physical therapy, along with their words of encouragement has lead me to return to playing baseball on the weekends and I even made the company's well known competitive Wall Street fast pitch softball league. Thanks to Dave and his crew of true professionals, I'm back!! They genuinely care about your over all well being and take the time to listen with humbleness and kindness. I have also gained new friends. We joke around and laugh every time I go there. I look forward to my sessions. Once again, I'm doing what I love to do. I didn't think I was ever going to play baseball again. Thank you for giving me my life back.

I'm a rower and also sit at a desk all day long for work. Between the two, I was feeling a lot of tension and some pain in my upper back and neck. Harborside Sport & Spine worked on my issues and got everything back to normal. I started rowing again a few weeks ago and it really does feel better than ever. Thank you HS&S.
